2nd Rest Day in Caiguna

This morning, there was a knock on my door while I was still asleep.
“Who’s there?” I called out.
“Judy!”
I stumbled out of bed, opened the door to the too-bright morning light, and found Judy standing there with a bag in her hand. She smiled and said, “We have some fresh food we can’t take over the border — you can have it.”
I was still half-asleep, but I thanked her and then dropped back into bed for another five minutes before finally getting up.
How did I feel?
Better than yesterday, but still a bit queasy and light-headed. I really don’t like that feeling — but then again, who does? I ate some simple, stomach-settling food: a banana, some toast, and a cup of tea (coffee felt too much for today).
Tomorrow I’ll be back on the road, and as always, that’s exciting. It feels good to take this short pause and allow my body to recover a little. Caiguna has been good to me — my cozy little room, the small garden I passed during the day, and the lovely staff at the roadhouse who made me feel at home.
Last night, I had a wonderful conversation with two Judys — both nurses — which felt surprisingly healing. Later, Param, a truck driver I had met earlier, messaged me, stopped by, brought me water and food, and made sure I was okay. It’s such a gift to feel cared for out here. Thank you, friend — I really appreciate your kindness and concern for my health.
Now, it’s time to pack up and get ready. The journey continues tomorrow!
Thank you all for your ongoing support and encouragement — it means more than I can say.
See you out on the road, Andrea
