A Quiet Day to Breathe and Take It In

When my alarm rang and I opened my eyes, I could see a sliver of red sunrise breaking into a dark blue horizon through the window. That was a beautiful way to wake up. I stepped out onto the balcony and immediately heard the birds chirping—soft, alive, welcoming the day.

I packed my things with a cold coffee in the room, then carried everything downstairs. There, I prepared my hydration, had a hot coffee from the machine, and organized my buggy. When I stepped outside, I was met with a wonderful morning atmosphere in the narrow alleys of Magallón. The town felt peaceful, almost still, yet full of quiet life.

As I made my way through, I noticed beautiful murals along the walls, some touched by the early sunbeams. It looked almost magical. I had a big smile on my face as I pushed the buggy uphill, and then steeply downhill, leaving town behind.

It was a good day for my mind. I made a conscious decision to stay relaxed, no matter the incline, no matter the pace. And that changed everything.

The landscape around me was spectacular. Snow-capped mountains in the distance, lush green fields stretching wide, and traditional Spanish towns appearing along the way. I passed vineyards, almond trees, and open farmland. At one point, I saw two white storks perched high on a palm tree—something I’ve started to see quite often here, yet it still feels special every time.

The sky stayed clear and blue throughout the morning, and later in the day, darker clouds formed, adding contrast and depth to the scene. It felt like the whole day was quietly unfolding, both around me and within me.

At mile 17, I stopped in Tarazona for a coffee, where I met Angelina and her husband. We shared a short conversation—simple, kind, and human. I didn’t rush. I was moving slower today, but I didn’t mind. I was enjoying the day, both externally and internally.

When I arrived at the hotel in Ágreda, I checked in, did some work, went grocery shopping, and took a shower. A steady, simple end to a very full day.

Now I’m finishing this.

Thank you for checking in. See you tomorrow, Andrea
