A Day to Recharge in Pichilemu
After yesterday’s 50-mile push to Pichilemu, today was all about slowing down, soaking in the moment, and giving my body the rest it deserves. And honestly? It felt amazing.
I slept in—no alarm, no rush, just pure, uninterrupted rest. Waking up in the cozy atmosphere of Hostel Kuyen, surrounded by wonderful people, set the tone for a relaxed and easygoing day. The hostel had this warm, welcoming energy, and I found myself enjoying long conversations with fellow travelers. Sometimes, the best part of the journey isn't the miles covered but the connections made along the way.
Of course, there were still a few things to take care of—some planning, some social media work—but nothing that felt like a burden. Mostly, I just let the day unfold. I took a slow walk to the beach, feeling the ocean breeze and watching the waves roll in. I went shopping, picked up a few things, and wandered through the town with no real agenda—just appreciating the here and now.
Rest days like this remind me that while running around the world is a physical challenge, it’s also about balance. It’s about knowing when to push and when to pause. And today was a well-earned pause.
Now, as the night settles in, it’s time to rest up once more. Tomorrow, the journey continues—heading further south through Chile, step by step. Thank you for following along. Your support means the world to me!
