Settling Back Into the Rhythm
25.63 miles | Total: 12,269.44 miles
I slept well. Hot coffee. Packing my things. And just before 7am I stepped outside into the dark and began moving again.
The buggy felt strange—and familiar at the same time. I felt good, and also a bit reduced. Stripped back. The most important thing today was to remind myself, from the moment I woke up, that it’s Gentle Wellbeing month. And that comes with a few essential principles: patience, care, listening, softness—even when things feel awkward or new again.
It was a good start with the buggy. Relatively warm, dry weather. The sound of the ocean waves nearby. The quiet transition back into being by myself. A steep driveway led me down, and then all the way back up to the road. From there, the road climbed steadily for a few miles, offering beautiful, still-dark views down toward the coastline.
I had my headlamp on and made sure the trucks could see me. The buggy still felt strange. Still felt familiar.
In the second part of my walk, I spotted a cyclist in the distance. Meeting Augustine from France and sharing a short conversation unexpectedly made my day. Just a few exchanged words, but enough to feel connected, seen. These moments matter.
The walk itself was beautiful. I felt okay, steady, though I was already looking forward to checking into the room I had booked the day before. I couldn’t find the house using the address I had, so Sophia came to pick me up and drove ahead to guide me in. As the wind started to pick up, I could sense a storm building in the air—another one promising heavy rain. We’ll see what comes.
Once I arrived, it was time for practical things again: organizing, a shower, dinner. And now rest. I’m tired.
Good night.
Thanks for checking in, and see you tomorrow. Andrea
