Rest Day in Leonidio

I checked the weather forecast at 6 a.m. and decided to play it safe. So instead of heading out, I rolled over and gifted myself another three hours of sleep. When I finally got up, I felt rested, calm, and grateful—exactly what a rest day should feel like.
Afterwards, I headed out for a gentle walk through town, umbrella overhead. Leonidio was quiet and soft in the rain. I stopped by the bakery for croissants, picked up a few groceries at the supermarket, and scoped out a place where we could later sit, have coffee, and recharge our devices. Small, practical missions.
Back in the van, my sister and I had a cozy brunch with tea and coffee. I then started working through a list of to-dos I’d been postponing for far too long. It felt good to clear some mental space. My body and mind both feel strong and thankful today. I’m so grateful my sister is here—sharing this journey, this road-tripping life, and finally another quiet in-between day. I love it.
Later, we went to a café where I could recharge my computer and get some work done. Afterwards, my sister prepared a wonderful dinner, and I went out again to buy some fresh food for the coming days. I found a beautiful little shop with perfectly arranged fruits and vegetables. Katarina, the owner, even had fresh eggs, and we shared a lovely short chat—one of those simple human moments that make the day brighter.
It rained on and off throughout the day. Yesterday’s dry riverbed has become a real river today—a quiet reminder of how quickly things can change.
Now it’s evening. Dinner, a bit more work, music playing softly. Good coffee, a protein drink, and a deep sense of ease. Life feels good. I’m rested and looking forward to continuing my run tomorrow.
Thanks for checking in. Andrea
