A Day of Beauty, Connection, and Peace

This morning started a little later than usual. I woke up slowly, took a hot shower, and finally left the Golden Dog Hotel around 8am—definitely a late start. The rain from last night had soaked everything, and as the sun rose, it warmed the ground and created this stunning, steaming landscape. Everything glistened. The road out of town began with steady hills, but my body felt strong and the running came easy.

About 11 miles in, I turned off to visit my new friends at the yurt. What a dreamlike place. The property is nestled in lush greenery, with a wooden platform supporting the yurt, and gardens blooming in every direction. Ludo the dog greeted me with tail wags, and soon we were walking through the beautiful yurt, soaking in the panoramic views. We had coffee together, and Bee took me on a small tour of the land—her passion, warmth, and vision for the space radiated through every word and plant.

Before I left, Bee and I stood in front of the yurt and released a dove together, a small act of love for all those who need a little extra care and kindness today. That moment will stay with me.

The run into Coffs Harbour felt like floating—sunshine, flowers, views of the ocean, and the echo of kind company still in my heart. I stopped for groceries and then, needing a break, wandered into a shop I couldn’t quite identify from outside. What I found inside was heaven: a plant-based café and deli called the "Happy Frog", Peace, Love & Chickpeas. Everything was prepared with such intention and joy. I had a golden turmeric chai and connected with the owners—such soulful, joyful people. I left feeling light and lifted.

It was already 3pm and I had 10 miles to go. The sun sets at 5pm, so I picked up the pace and ran strong and grateful into Bonville. I pitched my tent on a hill above the other campers—knowing I’d appreciate not having to push the buggy uphill in the morning. Dinner was simple: hummus, bread, a carrot, apple, some milk and water.

Now I’m in my sleeping bag, warm and content, heart full.

What a beautiful day. Thank you for being here with me. Dream Big Too, my friends.
